At this year’s DOAG (German Oracle User Group) conference in Nurnberg, I had the pleasure to meet Beda Hammerschmidt. Beda works as a software developer at Oracle.
Yes: that means he is one of the guys that actually writes the Oracle code. He is focussed on JSON and XML and at the moment he is coding the JSON feature in the Oracle Database. You can find his blog here: https://blogs.oracle.com/author/beda-hammerschmidt
We did some small talk and he proposed me to come to Swiss Mobiliar for a whole day to exchange experiences, wishes and needs about the JSON features in the Oracle Database.
JSON is a topic here at Swiss Mobiliar. The data market we are developing needs to store JSON Files originated from Oracle Databases. We are also setting up a Mongo Database Service that runs in Docker Containers to persist schemaless JSON Files.
Therefore I went to our developer meetings talking about the opportunity to invite Beda here at Swiss Mobiliar and asking which topics would be to be exchanged with Beda.
At the end we decided to do the following:
- A presentation of Beda in our Aula at the Direction in Bern on the 15th of January from 09:00 to 11:00
- Reserve the afternoon for smaller sessions between developer teams and Beda.
The presentation should explain what the JSON features in the Oracle database are. It should also give you an outlook of what will come in future releases and tell you about use cases where the option is used by customers.
As we have 160 seats in the Aula we decided to make the subscription “Open Door” to people outside Swiss Mobiliar – and: it’s for free! So if you are interested to attend, please fill in the form below or just drop a short mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will register you and reserve a seat for you. And please: just feel free to promote it via Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and every other media you can think of.
