This year Mobiliar achieved a new record: Three lectures were accepted by the DOAG committee for the “DOAG 2017 Konferenz”. Doag is the German Oracle User Group, and the DOAG Conference is the biggest Oracle User Group Conference in Europe. https://www.doag.org/en/home/news/doags-annual-conference-provides-information-on-cloud-security-and-support/detail/
2016 the DOAG Conference hosted more than 2’500 participants, providing around 470 lectures. As it is not self-evident to have a lecture accepted, we are very proud and looking forward with quite some excitement to this year’s participation.
My speeches will be on Tuesday and on Thursday:
on Tuesday at 11:00h in room “Shanghai”
on Thursday at 10:00h in room “Kiew”
Hans “Housi” Eichenberger’s speech will be about:
on Thursday at 09:15h in room “Tokio”.
The first lectures tells about how we built an Oracle license tracking using the DBA_FEATURE_STATISTICS View. Just an attempt to trigger license violations in our environment and start sleeping well at night without nightmares about audits. I was very pleased to see that this speech has also been mentioned by DOAG as a highlight in the database stream https://www.doag.org/de/home/news/highlights-im-datenbank-stream-der-doag-2017-konferenz-ausstellung/detail/
But what I’m really proud of is my second lecture: I decided to submit this speech only one day before the deadline. In the last years my team achieved quite a lot of success. We had different speaker slots at OOW, we published a couple of success stories with Oracle, some of our slides were printed in an official Oracle Tech Note as an example of Multitenant Usage by customers. Recently I was speaking with Gerald, one of my eldest team mates, about the big difference compared with just seven years ago. And we both agreed we already had a loooong journey together. Therefore I decided to create a presentation about it.
And I was again surprised when I received an e-mail from DOAG asking me for an interview: https://www.doag.org/de/home/news/vom-wilden-haufen-zum-agil-erfolgreichen-team/detail/I also would like to send a special “Thank You” to the Swiss Oracle User Group, who supported our speeches during the selection, and of course to the whole DOAG committee, with whom I had so many close contacts in the last months.
I’m also very excited to attend at Housi’s speech. The frontend my team is building is crucial for our developers here at Mobiliar. They want to get more and more independent regarding refreshing their environments and performing automatic tests. At the moment Housi is working very hard to have the first prototype running before the DOAG, so just see if he will achieve it 😛
